  • Cert. IV Remedial Massage
  • Cert. IIII Reflexology
  • Reiki Master
  • Member of the Australian Traditional Medicine Society

Johanna has been a massage therapist for 8 years, specialising in sports and remedial massage. She likes to work with her client to assess their soft tissue needs and then develop a treatment program where she will use a mixture of techniques including remedial massage, sports massage, myofascial release, lymphatic drainage, trigger point therapy, muscle energy techniques, etc. The treatment program takes into consideration the clients life style and their ability to exercise and stretch. She also assesses with the client on an ongoing basis how the program is working and adapts it as required.

I like to work co-operatively with my client and their coach and/or their other health professionals. I prefer that my clients take an active role in the treatment program depending on their requirements with the massage forming an integral part of the overall program. I think it is essential for the client to have an understanding of how their body functions and why and how the massage will benefit them in the long run.
